They’re
Their
Own enemy.
He’s
His
Own foe.
She’s her
Own abuser.

But…

Both
Blame
The other.
So
Stubborn
These lovers:
Won’t admit
Their faults.

If…

Only
One
Offered apology,
Then
The
Other forgave,
Each would
Own happiness.

Yet…

Alas!
Alone
Each is:
Living
Life’s
Every moment
Painfully parted
Ever more.

The author's comments:
We've been reading poems in my English class and so I wanted to write one that was short, simple, and unique in structure. I thought about writing a love poem, but I liked the idea of lovers being parted better. So this is what I came up with.
