Black Birds MAG
Why do I have to hide behind this mask?
All is a simple answer I ask.
The blackness falls over the valley.
He has approached through the alley.
The blackbirds fly over the sky.
The sounds light it up with an awful cry.
I step over the line.
He follows me quickly, sending a chill down my spine.
The valley fills with orange lightning.
When I look up, it seems frightening.
Blackbirds sing with their high-pitched whine.
As He comes closer, it seems so divine.
There is a flash of red and a smell of powder.
The ringing in my ears begins to get louder.
He picks me up and carries me across the land.
I almost forgot the gun in my hand.
Blackbirds fill the night.
He takes me to a place filled with warmth and light.
As I begin to drift away,
I cannot find myself to say
Blackbirds fill the night with sorrow.
Mother, I won't come home tomorrow.
