Ocean
Your soul is the ocean
 Swallowing me whole
I try to open my eyes
But your beauty, like salt stings

 Your curves
 Press against mine
 My eyes closed
 Fingertips trembling

I drift back to my cold isolated shore
Watch as the foam of the sea draws back upon itself
 Leaving me on my island
 Alone as I always was

To wake to the steady rhythm of the ocean
And find my heart being in sync
 Each time the ocean recedes
 Its tide returns higher
It takes the grains of my shore and polishes them into gleaming pearls

In time, I will be floating in your ocean again
This time, weighted with my pearls, I sink
Smiling as I descend, finally enveloped by your ocean
