Grandfather
He is sitting there on his chair
Gray streaks flow through his hair
Looking at the sky above
He raises his hands to get love
Walking slowly through the grass
His expressions are beautiful like glass
Making puzzles with him begin to fade
I almost forgot all the plans we made
He doesn’t awake in the morning after next
My feelings begin to become complex
The next day I wear all black
Reality hits me with a hard smack
He is gone into the world after this
I hope that somewhere he finds bliss
I give off a gentle goodbye
All the others begin to cry
I still have those old games
His pictures filled the frames
All of the sorrow makes that year
I remember his voice in my ear
Goodbye Granddaddy I have to go
Maybe someday you’ll see me grow
I love you and your grace
See you soon with a warm embrace
