The Report
The room was bleak,
The Report
The courier told us the news
No one could have anticipated this,
We were all taken by surprise,
He was gone.
The room was quiet,
The smell of smoldering coals filled it
No one spoke, we were all dazed.
Like statues we were emotionless
We were traumatized, this was an enormous loss
Our friend and companion had left us,
Although it was against his will, he had left us
He was deceased.
The courier left, living us alone.
We looked at one another holding pain behind our eyes,
Sadness enveloped us like a mother clasping her child
My friends were lost,
They stared at one another.
The message was painful but could not be denied
He was dead.
