I am a bird
-No too large a word
I am a wing
No, too much a thing
Yes, I am a feather
Floating hither and thither
Weightless
Worriless
That silly law of gravity
Hath no hold on me
Can’t keep me bound
With earthly ounce or pound
Free to fly
Until hopes die
On a misplaced step
The trance that kept
All, now broken, I fall
Densest of them all
