Messed Up
My nightmares make me tired
My dreams wake me up
I’m so discombobulated
That I don’t know which way’s up
I’ve tried to keep the record straight
A thousand times or so
But though I thought I made it right
It turns out it wasn’t so
Fix me if you can, mechanic
The doctor doesn’t know what’s wrong
He says my head’s turning counter-clockwise
And my diaphragm’s all wrong
I don’t sleep at night
I can’t wake up anytime soon
I walk and pace the halls of my house
Please, please fix me soon
Now they found what’s wrong with me
It’s terminal, the end is near
But there is one way to stop the damage
Just hold me, dear
