Burning Love
Why did you burn me,
Rather than leaving me eternally ignited?
You've extinguished the flames of my everlasting love,
Leaving me to ashes, with the smoke still floating above.
How cruel for you to light the spark,
Leave your mark,
Then just abandon me in the dark.
Your face once illuminated within my heart,
Shining, glowing, upon my soul,
Leaving me with positivity, until the ashes turned me dull.
Your face is no longer the torch for my loving heart,
But now the match for a new flame to start.
Hatred is what will truly eternally ignite,
Illuminating a much brighter light.
This hatred will not burn me,
In fact, it will revive me.
I will become the Phoenix of hatred and rise from the ashes,
Healing myself with each spark that flashes.
You've ignited the flames of my everlasting hate,
Impossible to extinguish because forgiveness is too late.
