Saltwater
I stare at my face in the mirror
And wonder why all I can see
Is my eyes and my tears
Forming a stream at my feet.
The river becomes an ocean,
Leaves me stranded alone on an isle,
And sometimes I get the strange notion
That I should fight water with fire.
Then I know that I've been here too long;
I know I could save myself,
But I give in to the sweet song
Of shadows and moonlight,
Though I know it is wrong.
