All the Things I'm Not
You tell me I'm special
but I couldn't feel more plain.
You tell me I'm better
but I couldn't be in more pain.
You tell me you'll never leave me
but I feel so alone.
You tell me I'm your baby
but I feel so grown.
You tell me I'm perfect
but I'm so very flawed.
You tell me I'm sweet
but my beast is only lulled.
You tell me I'm self-absorbed
but I couldn't feel more self-loath
You call me a loner
but on people I feel I impose.
You tell me I'm beautiful
but I couldn't feel more not.
You tell me I'm gonna go far
but I feel like I'm caught.
You tell me I'm an angel
but I can't even pray.
You tell me I'm yours
but here I cannot stay.
You tell me you love me
and its all I can do
not to look in your eyes
and say I love you too.
