The Summer Storm Grows-A Pantoum
From menacing blackness a summer storm grows
And a brilliant bolt of lightning splits the ink black sky
And for that second bright as day, a glimpse of evil glows
The wicked wind whips the rain with painful deadly force
And a brilliant bolt of lightning splits the ink black sky
Trees creak in protest as they bow to kiss the ground, then crack and die
The wicked wind whips the rain with painful, deadly force
Giant waves crash upon the rocky shore battering the broken cottage as they go
Trees creak in protest as they bow to kiss the ground, then crack and die
Comes the hail with powerful force like bullets on the metal roof
Giant waves crash upon the rocky shore battering the broken cottage as they go
Under the covers of her masters bed a tiny dog shivers and shakes
The cacophony of sights and sounds has brought her to a terrified brink
And for that second, bright as day a glimpse of evil glows
But crawling deeper comfort found snuggled against her masters clothes
From menacing blackness a summer storm grows
