Darkness
Ever so quiet that mortal feeling of fear
Discretely, it comes when death draws near
And though my body negates its notion
Its patience provokes my frailness unwanted commotion
Soul clenching is its grip and its hold
Like a fire in the dawn or a drop in the cold
Slyly it controls my worries and my thoughts
Twisting and turning my emotions into knots
As my heart cries out my eyes cannot see
What they cannot see my mind makes up for me
And then enters that familiar feeling of fear
Fear of what my eyes can't see and my ears cant hear
So dark it is the light cannot shine
Death is near, I've already seen the signs
And though my soul fights to live
My body has handed out, all it has to give
