Everyone has had that professor…
You know the one that is as interesting as a dying fish

They have the blank face, the monotone voice, and the dreary class.
They read from the book and quiz on the material afterwards

They flop around in order to gain our attention, but we always end up falling asleep
And when the test comes around, we all fail

We criticize them mercilessly saying that they can't teach-or that they shouldn't be a teacher
But what we don't know is what lies behind that blank face and monotone voice
They might be worry about a family member or might not be feeling well

In secret, they might want to try new teaching methods, or activities; but fear of rejection stops them
Kind of like us when we decide to step out of our comfort zone

They might not feel appreciated from their students
They hear the comments their students make and become wounded
We whine and complain that we have to be at school and do work, but their day isn't much different than ours
They have to go to school everyday as well
So before criticizing them, put yourself in their shoes and be grateful of their attempt to provide you with knowledge
