Birth's Beginning
The others see me as many things.
In here tis’ too hard to hide
The face of your father when he cries.
Hidden by the truth with a sigh
Of relief, how could I have believed?
What these eyes have seen.
You sought the attention but once in grasp
It was all pushed away.
Below this skin
The face of a man
Who had the thought in his head
Of wishing to be dead.
Killing the life from his mother’s hand
Her fratricidal daughter of the same sin
Who the father denied was his.
After the flickering of the flame had been burnt
You said you’d start a new day,
Decide the day at dawn.
The day of birth’s beginning
But you had it all wrong
From the very start.
Where have you been?
Oh beautiful and lovely sin
Hiding away in your memories.
Safe, you may think you are
But we’ll show them that yourself
Isn’t very far.
An honest man you said that you’ll make of me
How will I ever live to see?
And gain the power to believe
The day that I
Will be born without a mask.
