where did your kind words go
the ones I got so easily
addicted to
the ones I breathed in
like cigarette smoke
the ones that entered my lungs
and made me choke
I didn't mind how difficult it was to
breathe
your words settled me down
and put me at ease
now I'm left breathing fresh air
but it doesn't feel so fresh at all
not even the whole atmosphere
could make me feel as high as
you
