Midnight snacks
Across the phone
Two different places
Neither wanting to be alone
Laughs hushed
By the silence of night
Tiptoe downstairs
Families asleep don't turn on the light
Strange recipes
And songs to fit the mood
Best friends in love
Bonding over food
A peculiar adventure
Memories for a life time
Deepening the feelings
That the two people will soon find
Deny all they want
What is clearly between them
The truth will come out
And love will be free then
But for now
It'll stay hidden inside
Just midnight snacks between friends
All else laid aside
