Shake
Tremble
Fall
Like your legs were never there at all
Shuffle
Trip
Collapse
Please don’t repeat the past

Arms clutching tight
The metal bars of life
Dreaming of the times
When you still had nine lives

A hero of the past
You saved a crimson world
Ridden with children’s cries
With parents saying last goodbyes

When anguish filled the streets
You had a gun and boots on your feet

But now, even with camouflage
You can no longer hide
For the cold, dark hands of time
Spread like the plague, its fingers climb

Crumbling like a brick wall
You once stood so proud, so tall
Your sugar levels rise and fall
Life’s really not fair at all

Loving
Laughing
Caring
You will always proclaim
Strong
Determined
Serene
The few, the Proud, the Marines
