Summer Memories

October 17, 2008

Warm breezes drifting through the trees,
Little laughs of small children seeping through;
Laying alone on bare wood bridges,
Listening to water below;
Thinking of the time youv'e spent with me,
All the moments we shared

As i walk by the banks,
I watch the ripples,
And hear the birds sing;
I remember the flowers you picked me,
I am reminded of how fast time goes

As I glide through the tall grass
the sun tickles my cheeks
The mud squishes under my shoes;
I remember how we laughed as we played
I am reminded of how vague our youth is,

As I sit by the lake waters
The wind blows against me,
Cool waves crash over my toes,
The seagulls cry echoes in my ear;
I think of when we skipped rocks together,
We talked about our future;
I am reminded of how short life is;

Now summer is gone,
...and so are you
