Put the Radio On
I take the steering wheel and you take my heart.
Turn that radio down. You know where we are.
It's buzzing in the background behind our talk.
We can't let it silent for fear our words will stop.
I'm keeping my hands steady, curves ahead on the road.
You know I like this song, just one more before home.
Our lips become conductors, and words in symphony.
The air is blasting and so many notes carry happily.
Now I'm driving down that road alone,
but the radio plays our song. The tones
bring me back to those summer days
and I know you're not that far away.
