Flash Forward
Flash forward in time, what do you see?
Life a mess, no bugs, not a single tree
The world I’d grown to love all gone
So I sent a letter from this time and on
Listen carefully, please, if you care
If you wish to see a fish or a springing hare
Stop pollution, stop death and if time could freeze
Please stop killing the buzzing bees
The animals oh so big and small
The mountains towering oh so tall
The cool blue sea with whales and sand
The food, I’m afraid, is rather bland
But life is important, full of meaning
And the world is dying, can’t stop bleeding
The sun will burn and soon die out
So I’m making a stand, I’m going to shout
What if all the flowers die,
And innocent people began to lie?
The wild animals turned to dust,
No more basking in the safety of trust
Children crying, the worlds too hot
And one last thing, I almost forgot
I know it’s cruel but I’ve got something to say
The world might not last another day
So if you want your great, great grandchildren to
See the world then it’s up to you
To look after this planet on which we roam
And keep it safe to make their home
