Irredenta
This is the deepest of sinking
Both feet tucking under the floor
My entire corps is curled
And I fall slowly backward
into the wooden boards
I have been splintered from all sides
Stripped away in chunks
I cannot feel any longer
I lay as pieces only to reminisce of
On rainy days, strewn across the carpet
This is the goriest of loves
Totaled, my exterior has been
Compacted as smooth as with tin foil
No resiliency to rebuild
This twisted backbone
I fear there will never be
A reuniting of soul and body
One lay scattered 'cross
the spread of the universe
the other, in a trough
