When You Have to Leap
I peer over the cliff of opportunity
To make a faithful jump
My eyes pause over failure’s thorns
And the singeing lava of rejection
The misty fog of doubt
Surrounds the rocks of anguish
And embarrassment’s poison ivy
Stings my strength
I cannot see the other edge
Through the clouds of uncertainty
Yet I run toward my dream
Hoping I can fly
My feet leave the familiar
Do I soar?
