The Lost Soldier
The memory lay untouched in the back of their minds,
The man, lost in the burial grounds
Which lay covered with broken men and dreams,
Never to return to their unpredicted, unfinished lives.
They sacrifice themselves unwillingly,
Unable to see the faces of their loved ones,
They perish in the wastelnd of lost hope,
Never to return as a whole, but as a lost soul.
In the tears that they caused,
They will only rise to see the light
Of the candles lightly flickering in the darkness,
As they are forgotten, seeping into the earth,
Never to hear, see, and feel again.
