The Widow
In darkness black and fading fair
Well the winds in widows hair
Sat atop a rocking chair
The creak of wood and bones
A healthy eye for healthy mind
The trade she had to take in kind
And now to leave family behind
A single, lonely tear
Wrinkled skin so softly shakes
Looking back on past mistakes
She prays to god her soul to take
And wishes then for sleep.
