A phantom approached from behind.
A specter, touching my shoulder,
The touch singed my skin and chilled my bones.
The ghost's words, slithering off his tongue,
The serpent sang a song of vengeance.
For I was an unwanted guest,
In his resting place, which we both call home.
But I made it extremely clear
That I would not be the one leaving.
So as I had invaded his home,
The spirit entered, throwing his rock
Shattering my blue windows.
Now it was he who was unwelcome,
This body, not big enough for us both.
My strength, my will, vanishing,
I writhed, I cried, "please make this stop!"
The next thing I knew, we were I to I,
I was the spirit, he was whole.
