it hurts
so much
too much
stop
make it stop
silver blade of freedom
flesh and skin
meet
once
twice
again and again
slashes of crimson
flow
making a river of pain
that
trails
down my arm
into a pool
in the palm of my hand
drip
off fingertips
mixing with
salty tears
and metal
but
no matter
how many times
my arm burns
it will
never
make the hurt
go away.
