A Thousand Mile Runway
From the corner of my eyes I can see
Faces following me with their stare
Flaw-finding, judgmental stare with no sympathy
Still, I keep my straight forward with no care
I worked my way across in a way that felt good
As I step, my foot would cross my other foot
And when I feel whispers and raising of brows around me,
I just keep my hands held on my waist recklessly
My heels broke, I stumbled before them
But not a single moment my head was down
My eyes remained forward, preceded walking; barefooted
Feeling no embarrassment, feeling unaware of eyes around
There’s no looking back; no going back
The shows going on and I can finish this alone
Until the end of a thousand mile at my very last pose,
I’ll keep strutting my way through this runway I own
