What world are you seeing?
Have you explored the confines of a cave in the crust of a mountains rocky peak
or plunged through the lightening blue surface of the oceans deep
have you walked a bending path through a golden forests center
or played hooky to sit atop a lone bracken tree in the winter
And when was it you saw a display of cellophane light
an aura of color against a navy blue night?
Stared off of a cliff to the sea below
watched a light houses signaling glow?
When was it last you heard the call of a bronze feathered hawk
Its voice ringing out in its mystical talk
plunging low in a swoop to a valley of green
to consume his meal without being seen
Have you trot with an elk who you tried to outrun?
and laughed when surely enough it was he who won
or roll down a hill as big as twin towers
only to end in a patch of violet and indigo flowers?
Ever been to the other side of the world and back
without first having a suitcase to pack?
Or ridden bubbling rafters rushing white and blue
with two wooden oars and a handcrafted canoe
Inhaled the sulfur of a volcanic vent
Camped the rugged terrain with no more than a tent
Searched the lens of a telescope for dusty red Mars
Slept the night under a blanket of stars?
Have you spilled your thoughts into natures river
felt something stronger than an earthquakes shiver?
Have you let the wind capture your soul?
let it glide on a breeze through dreams only God knows.
