Margot's poem
Close your eyes
 Close them tight
To try to hold back the tears

 Pound the doors
 Scream until you’re hoarse
But there’s no one there to hear

 Listen once more
  To the children’s laughs
Like an echo within your head

 Find that your dreams
 Relived again and again
 Are now forever dead

 Search for a memory
 The smallest thought
 To occupy your mind

 And yet, the sound
 Of monotone silence
 Is all you can find

 Bang the door
Yell as loud as you can
 Try to escape in vain

Yet by the time you get out
 All that will be waiting
 Is rain
