Realization
Push past all insecurities
Unmask my inner being
Forbid myself from losing sight
Of how I'm transforming.
My inner shell; still intact
My exterior; a pile of ash
Another heave, lungs aching
Teardrops on every lash.
I knew; I saw it coming
But chose to remain naive
Dammed, I sit in agony
Forever refusing to believe
My ignorance will get the best
Of every molecule within me
I cannot regret this experience
For it has opened my eyes; I see.
