Nightmare On Oak Lane
I wake up
to the sound
of my screaming
parents
I rush upstairs--
not knowing what
was happening-- to
find my mom
calling 911
I hear the panic in her voice as she says the word
“fire”
and I finally realize what
is going on
We rush outside
to see the street lined
up and down
with big red trucks
We stand in our front
yard, watching helplessly, as
a fiery inferno engulfs our
entire house.
