It beckons me. It calls to my mind
I go to it, and what do I find?
Space, the sea, time travel, and magic
Some are funny, and some are tragic
They all pull me in to a brand new place
All are perfect, whether slow or fast paced
In some I will love, in some I will fight
A happy slave to what the author writes
Some make me happy, but some make me sad
Some leave me feeling so terribly mad
Yet, after all that, I choose to go on
Like worm to bird, to a book I am drawn
