The Gavel
Your smile makes her smile,
Your laugh makes her laugh,
And while her heart’s on trial...
You are her other half!?
The judge pounds the gavel,
The jury’s verdict is in.
Her heart begins to travel
To your flawless grin.
Your dreams make her dream
Your cheerfulness makes her cheer.
Even all your somewhat evil schemes
Make her love you more her dear.
But maybe that doesn’t matter.
Maybe it is a fear.
Because her heart has shatter
For you have disappeared.
Yes, the real you has faded,
You’re literally out of this world.
Because now you’re a different person.
Your true colors have unfurled.
Your heart has surely melted
Into the soles of your feet.
You wake up smiling evily,
Crush souls, and repeat.
You go to bed infuriated,
You wake up the same.
You’re a loser in your own world,
In reality you’re a playa to your game.
You’re as wicked in mentality,
Wicked in your soul.
Your pounding fist, your hate list,
Gets stronger with gained control.
She wishes you could just go back
To the way you were before,
Sadly that’s impossible.
You’re not you anymore.
So, the judge pounds the gavel,
You pound your fist.
The jury’s verdict is:
She's no longer on your list.
Yes the judge pounds the gavel,
Your shackles walk away.
Unfortunately that’s who you are,
And it breaks her every day.
Before you were a wonder,
A beauty to her eye.
Now you’re wearing orange,
Telling lie after lie.
It’s sad because she's not in your life,
To you she doesn't exist.
She believes you don’t even know yourself.
It’s the real you that she missed.
But she's not responsible for your mistakes,
She's not to blame for your crimes.
The door slams behind your shackled feet.
She hopes you enjoy your time.
