The sun is Shining
The leaves are changing
But what could be wrong?
Who is hiding what they feel?
What they feel is sadness.

Why is this person sad?
Could it be because of all her problems at school?
or could it be because of her problems at home?
or maybe its because this person knows what October means to her family.

What October means to her family is the month of losing a close relative.
She knows that this person was a hero and loved her very much.
Who is the close relative?

The close relative is her great grandpa.
A World War II Veteran. A caring person.
Someone who she loved alot.
Someone who she didn't say goodbye to.
Who is this girl?

This girl is me.
I loved my great grandpa so much.
He was a unique person.
And I didn't get to say goodbye to.
Now 4 years later it is October once again.
I now face remembering him as best as I can without crying.
I lost him when I was in the 4th grade.
I was too young to understand.
Maybe one day I will understand.
