The Last Seconds
I stand here in a tensioned room
As I reflect upon my life.
Though the one who’s life reflected on,
Brings tension cut through by a knife.
Last word, last thought, and last breath he takes,
As I stare at the musty white wall.
I try my best to hold it in,
Then my teardrops start to fall.
Now I wish I was a better child,
‘Cuz regret is one harsh thing.
Now I sit here and all I think is you
And the songs you always sang.
I look upon the ticking clock,
And all the wet damp faces.
Right now I forgive you of all your flaws,
And all your mean harsh phases
We’re down to the very last second,
So hear my last words I say to you.
I love you dad, I really do,
You’ll be always remembered it’s true
