Song In My Heart
The song in my heart
Vibrating, pulsating, gasping
Ready to be let out,
But I can’t
It won’t
To prevent my embarrassment
Therefore my song must be silenced.
I’m sixteen. Six foot three. One Seventy Pounds.
Yet she’s fifty. Five foot four. One ten pounds.
And it is she,
That controls my life.
It is she that chooses my plans.
It is she that chooses my education.
And it is she that disapproves.
I want to explore, I want to make mistakes
I want to experience sixteen.
Being sixteen.
I want to let that song out.
