My Ruby
I had a ruby
It was the size of my heart
And was in the shape of it too
It was polished and warm
And I kept it clean
I tried to keep it the way it was
But I failed in the end
Different guys came along
And they chipped pieces off my ruby
Or made little invisible scars
It was no big deal
It was still a heart
As I continued to polish it
Then one day, you came along
All the small chips
All the unseen scars
Slowly disappeared
And my ruby started to shine
Suddenly, you were gone
That night, I checked my ruby
And found a small shard in its place
You ran off with my heart
And now, I have nothing left
