Waiting to Fail
I stand on the brink
Icarus before the fall
Where all is sunshine
And I know no fear.
That fatal leap looms dark below
A haze of uncertain terrors
A mist of awaiting opportunities
That expose myself to the world
Show my weaknesses and flaws.
Safety is here with the eternal sun
But safety is the loss of self.
To live, I must fall.
This utopia is a glass prison,
One that I must acknowledge to escape.
My wings may melt,
But I will be free.
