No Turning Back

I express myself
Through writing
My friend reads;
Takes a step back with heed

I enclose myself
Me and my heart
We walk away
Never looking at that day

I go by myself
One step then another
Into the dark lace
Without a trace

I think to myself
"Does it matter?"
No, not anymore
I'm gone forevermore

Forevermore.

The author's comments:
This piece was based on when a couple of friends read something I and someone else wrote together for a fantasy world that had us in it. Apparently, they disliked it, and knowing that I love to write, blamed me for the most part. I was really sad during those times because friends that are really "friends" are hard to come by. But, with the help of my other peers, I'm able to just keep moving and close that chapter of my life. Now, I feel as if it happened eons ago and that's all said and done. To readers, people, out there- you don't have to keep facing something that you can't change. It hurts for awhile, but get back on your feet and start anew. That phase in your life isn't gone, but it shouldn't affect your future.
