Refusing To Move
Winds gust, emptying the air of opportunity,
Yet eyes, mouths, and minds remain fully open,
Standing, unable to move, the hopeful remain.
Wishing to never blot away their tears,
Believing their words will matter endlessly,
Knowing thoughts cannot be broken.
Above, they view the skies turning dark gray,
Gusts of wind attempt to throw them off their spots,
Rains wash their tears away, while their words remain.
Feelings in the air continue to become jaded,
Many observers think the hope may be lost,
As their surroundings are worse with each minute.
Yet the hopeful who stand know it remains,
With their eyes, mouths, and minds open, stand strong,
Ready to face the gusting winds,
Ready to stand, to make their changes.
