The Sands of Our Lives are Slipping Through the Hourglass of Time
Rushed, and hushed, her senses fail.
Quickly, quietly, and to no avail.
A colorless night rains down upon her mind.
A black endless void. This is not kind.
Rolling hills of uncertainty seep into the air.
Flowing waves of doubt fall from eyes without care.
Bloodshot, painted red, her eyes grow tired.
Inside her heart mourns, deeply with desire.
Put your weary head to rest. Go now, sleep my dear.
And I will pray for life as Grace lets fall another tear.
A rush of blind pain floods into your dreams.
Yet, through trial and denial, only I heard your screams.
Dismal, depressed, your senses have failed.
You're bleeding, don't leave me. Let your feelings set sail.
Put your weary head to rest. Go now, sleep my dear.
And I will pray for life.
As Grace lets fall another tear.
