Trip to Brandywine
We drove for miles, but
The ride was exciting.
Turing into the driveway,
The house was inviting.
My whole family was anxious
Once we were inside,
We looked at the women,
As if she was our guide.
She took us to the cellar,
On each stair was a creak.
And finally, there waiting,
A litter of puppies fast asleep.
As soon as they heard us,
They awoke in a snap.
The puppies were wild,
They were done with their nap.
With a puppy in her arms,
We were ready to go.
She became apart of the family,
It was time to go home.
