Peace?
Peace.
Is there such a word?
The world around us makes it seem absurd.
We fight, we spit, we cry.
We sit on our couches, and on TV watch people die.
The proud few stand up for the meek.
Most people just pass by those every day of the week.
We lose our fathers, friends, mothers, and brothers,
As the cowards around us run for their covers.
September 11th is a day to remember.
Although now when it is spoken, it doesn’t even send a shiver.
Everyday life is now full of misery and woe.
Who use to be our closest friends,
Are now our biggest foes.
Is it too late for people to change?
Now is the time to help the poor, ill, or deranged.
Our world’s survival is not up to pure fate.
We must all join hands . . . before it’s too late.
