What is True
What is True
Always tell the truth,
That is what they say;
Be honest and fair,
And trustworthy each day.
Never tell a lie.
Do not cheat or deceive.
This is what they
Want us to believe:
That cheaters never prosper,
And liars are always caught,
But reality contradicts
That which I’ve been taught.
The truth gets distorted,
Lies sink in,
The honest person fails,
While the cheater wins.
Our world is not
As good as it should be
About telling the truth;
Where’s integrity?
This is the truth,
Simple and clear
We need to all
Be more sincere.
And tell the truth
Like we’ve always been taught.
Being truthful is good;
Lying is not.
