Right or Wrong, Sing it Strong

the scale repeated as i looked up to him
i glanced to my right and to my left
i listened with the closest ears, but i didn't get it just yet.
my eyes stung as i tried to make everything click
but i was outside looking in, she said that she understood
i sat back, staring at what he put before me.
and i felt like i could never measure up.
