The Change to Dark
I strolled downstairs
To talk to my parents,
They shut the light out
And now I am in darkness.
They sat me down to talk
About my fear of the dark,
The hall light was my safehouse
And they wouldn’t let me in.
I used to feel safe at night
With that hall light watching over me,
I felt so protected
So invincible and blessed.
Now I have no guardian angle
To protect me at night,
The loud buzz of sources unknown
Were wild beasts ready to pounce.
Now I can sit in bed
Like a regular person can,
And be friends with the darkness
As it puts me to bed.
