Swallowing the Sorrow
Taken to soon, a life damned out of the womb,
Sent to his death before his time, charging into battle blind.
To serve his country and his family, digging his own grave was insanity
The worry he left his mom and dad, not knowing if his life was had.
The army walking up the stairs and knocking on the door
The news that they’ve delivered shake a woman to her core.
A mother left to grieve the death of her only son
The pain of burying your own child is second only to none
Now staring at the clock she prays that time will end this sorrow
But time does nothing for this woman but bring about tomorrow.
