The stillness following the atrocious storm
The sound that often strays from the norm
The signal that a fight is done
Stating that neither side has won
The simple tactic to lull a child to sleep
The only solution when one might weep
Showing us a glimmer of hope
Providing us with time to cope
The stillness acknowledged by few
Capable of more than we believe it can do
