Two Doves Dead in the Snow
Two doves embrace
In treetops above
Standing still face to face
Undeniably in love
Two doves stay together
Through the thick and thin
Entwining with each other's feathers
Dreaming of bearing kin
Two doves notice things
Fate running wrong
Tighter yet they tuck their wings
Trying to stay strong
Two doves begin to weep
Their bodies start to quiver
Days come without sleep
They hold on tight and shiver
Two doves freezing cold
Feathers freeze in place
Still together, they grow old
Trapped within the embrace
Two doves abruptly fall
Indenting in the snow
Trees above grow so tall
As they sink below
Two doves lay dying
Wings locked in place
Alas, they were still trying
To remain face to face
Two doves dead in the snow
Still clinging to each other
Both souls buried low
Under snowy covers
