Depression
It hurts more than your hunger,
After starving yourself for days.
It hurts more than your sunburn,
From the sun's piercing rays.
It aches more than the self-pity,
Caused by many broken dreams.
It aches more than when your heart
Starts ripping at the seams.
There is no other pain,
Like the kind it provides for me.
Emotionally, physically,
There is no remedy.
So I will stumble through life,
Not knowing what to do.
Just letting it take over,
Like those minor pains took over you.
I won't know where I'm going,
Just that I've lost control.
And because I cannot fight it,
It's entitled to my soul.
